How to install vista starter?

months ago my friend advised me to buy a new os, which i didnt installed anyway because i was thinking of the hard task of backing up, sorting, my files etcetera. now, im thinking of just handing it over to my bloodkin, sadly, she doesnt neither nor i knows how to install it for her laptop. my question is, how do i do the installing?
