What type of jacket is this? and more questions! (military isssued jacket)?

Sounds like you have an old Field Jacket. They were issued to enlisted and it was intended to keep you warm in cold weather. The lining was a soft green and shiny if I remember right and was also the same material that was used as a poncho liner. It was also standard issue to Marines. The stains could be from anything. It's an old jacket.
