Is this gateway laptop a good computer?

Well It looks like a great deal, but I'm unsure as to the gateway brand. Here's their wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_Computers. As far as I know, they're a subsidiary of acer, so I think you should go ahead with it. I'm currently looking for a laptop too, and if I lived in the US, I would definitely be buying that.
